# SFTP File Interface

Congruit exposes an SFTP endpoint where formatted CSV Exchange files can be dropped for automated processing.

## Create an SFTP account

We support two kinds of account:

- personal account for ad hoc upload or download of files
- m2m account for automated ingestion of Exchange files of furnished data

Request an SFTP account of either kind:

Tradelines file for NoPay3. Most lenders find it easier to furnish all tradelines and let Congruit identify those that meet the NoPay3 definition. Lenders are also encouraged to supply the `first_payment_default` and `nopay` fields if you have an internal definition for these.

## Automated ingestion

Files placed into the `/ach` and `/tradelines` folders in your SFTP account can be automatically ingested. Files can be uploaded daily or weekly or whenever you have updates. File formats are designed to be idempotent - so you can upload the same record multiple times without fear of duplicates in our database.
